Forest of Frequencies
A downloadable game for Windows
Forest of Frequencies is a single player music adventure strategy game where you can explore a world filled with dangerous creatures, breath taking flora and spirits looking for their bodies.
Music, visual art & gameplay comes together to form a unique experience made for those who love the interplay and combination of art forms.
Features
Tune into the power of magical frequencies
Effect the world around you with music. Search for magical frequencies using a radio to aid you on your journey. Hypnotise enemies, guide souls and defeat hungry hollow husks all through the power of music.
Protector of musical spirits
The forest is suffering. Musical spirits have become separated from their bodies and have had to go into hiding to avoid predation. Find these spirits and safely guide them back to their bodies.
Dangers of the Forest
On your journey you will encounter different enemies that all pose a unique danger. Some can be hypnotised by music, some are drawn to music and others will detune your radio. You must come up with a plan to keep you and the spirits safe.
Choose your own path
Find your own way through the environment. The clearest path might not be the safest one… or the most adventurous.
Breath-taking environment
The magic of music has not only affected the creatures within the world but the flora as well. Glowing mushrooms and coral like fungi dot the landscape. Lose yourself in this rich environment.

It's really fun and challenging! The art style/music sets a great atmosphere that feels correct for the game and for what is happening at the moment. I also like how the game has a “go here” function that you can't just abuse and plays a part of the gameplay itself.
such a beautiful game! So colorful and fun to play
The colors look really beautiful! Really liked that you had to play with the music :)
I liked the game very much. Many details, bright colors and creativity. I do wish that there was taken more in depth details about the storyline and background of the world and charachters. However, I do think this game has potential to be even more fun and entertaining!
I wish this game wasn't so short. It was challenging but fun.
Could this game ever be multiplayer in the future?
The art of this game looks so unique! I downloaded this game and I liked that you had to use a radio which causes the background music to change.
het spel is erg moeilijk te begrijpen maar na een tijdje vond ik het leuk te vinden. Ook is het idee heel creatief en het ziet er mooi uit.
Super fun!
Enjoy the short gameplay, but some feedback:
- The character walking felt more like sliding (mainly because feet often hovered or clipped)
- The walking sound didn't feel in-sync with the animation
- The radio rotation buttons by default turned the wrong way since you use Q & E: ( Q is the left button on the keyboard so you assume the radio would turn clockwise, while E would turn anti-clockwise, but this was the opposite)
My compliments:
- Amazing art style and coloring, it was very vibrant and relaxing
- Decent controls
- Loved the music! really fit the environment
- I love the mechanic of the radio, interesting idea which worked in this game!
- Proper sounds queue's on when something is happening, so you pay attention on what might have changed
last remark
The radio frequencies were somewhat unclear (still no clue what sleep does)
Make sure you either explain this, or really show the working of it. like you did with the search (although it took me a second to realize that I could search the "body" of the spirit aswell). It is really fun to figure out how it works on your own, but not everything was as clear and easy to understand.
Keep up the great work, it really shows some potential!
